Entry Level Drone

The Visuo XS809S Battle-Shark drone is a great entrance drone for those just wanting pure fun and to pick up the necessary flight skillset required for some other quadcopters.

The drone is compact when collasped in it´s foldable state and it´s extremely portable. When the arms are extended there are flashing LED´s on the underside of each propeller, which looks great when the drone is in flight, especially in low light.

The camera goes up to 2MP and the footage or photos are stored on an SD micro card, the slot of which is located on the bottom of the drone. With this in mind the quality of image and footage goes up slightly from other drones that relay the image back to the owners phone.

A great feature of this particular model is the increased battery capacity, which has slightly increased the drones weight but only by 2grams. However this means that the drone now has a flight time of 20mins, and with 2 extra batteries, that gives an hour of flying and fun. Well worth considering if you are looking for a budget entrance drone.

Some other features of this model is the controller, which is loosely based on an X-Box controller, which has a flip-up phone holder which then supports your mobile phone giving you the perfect FPV (First Person View), as you fly the drone. This controller is also very comfortable to hold and lets face it, if you are flying your drone for an hour, this is a great bonus. Unfortunately the controller is lacking in photo/video button so this needs to be controlled from your phone on the app.

The drone does not have GPS however it does have altitude hold and with some tweaking and configuration when you first the drone out, it hovers and maintains position well.

As with some other drones and this is a safety feature becoming more frequent, there is an altitude limiter, meaning the maximum flight ceiling is about 10m.

If you are looking for stunts and flipping the drone unfortunately even though the controller does have the button it does not have the capability.

The wifi can feel delayed at times however with 3 different speed settings and the knowledge that this is a great drone for a beginner then why not learn to fly with this good, fun model. Click here for more information.
